Why are Inventories of Homes so Low?
In recent years housing stock has remained quite low due to economic conditions and higher interest rates. Buyers seeking an existing home to purchase are forced to compete with multiple other buyers at the same time forcing prices way up and compromising terms for the buyer. An example of a comprising term in a contract is purchasing an existing home without a home inspection or appraisal contingency. While this may sound like poor judgement, Buyers are forced to make these compromises.

Generally, there are two reasons. First, move in ready new homes are being gobbled up by buyers who need to move relatively quick but cannot find an existing home.
