    We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support our Land Development team. This role involves a blend of project estimating and project management responsibilities, offering an excellent opportunity for professional growth and development within our organization.

    Role Duties & Responsibilities:

    Project Estimating

    • Obtain material and subcontractor pricing quotes.
    • Perform material quantity take-off calculations.
    • Utilize Agtek for earthwork quantity estimations.

    Project Management

  • Project Estimator

    J.A. Myers Homes is seeking an experienced Project Estimator to join our Housing Production team. The ideal candidate will prioritize pricing for President & Realtor options and house prices, work on sold house budgets, and issue purchase orders to subcontractors and suppliers. This role also involves revising budget prices for all house plans, meeting with customers for additions and remodeling projects, drawing up plans, pricing them out, and sending proposals to clients.

    Role Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Review Blueprints.
    • Identify tasks and required subcontractors.
    • Assemble and distribute bid information for subcontractors.
    • Analyze bids for completeness and price. 
    • Use estimating software to develop proposals. 
    • Negotiate with subcontractors and vendors. 
    • Execute subcontractor agreements. 
    • Develop specifications and prices for change orders. 
    • Update systems with approved change orders. 
    • Regularly analyze job costs in comparison to estimates with management.
    • Stay informed of trends and issues in construction processes and materials.
    • Be responsible for the ongoing development of systems and processes. 
    • Review scopes with the Superintendent. 

    Prerequisites for Success:

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

    JA Myers Homes is actively seeking experienced, hands-on Punch Out Technicians to join our growing team! The Punch Out Technician is a critical member of our onsite community team, performing maintenance and service work that ensures our properties meet our standards of operational excellence.

    Role Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Support quality control and job site finalization by reviewing, arranging, and carrying out punch lists and tasks assigned by the project manager.
    • Perform quality control inspections on new construction homes.
    • Communicate with the team to provide updates on task completion status and resolve any issues that arise.
    • Collaborate smoothly and efficiently with crew members and subcontractors across various job sites. 
    • Recognize and address any subcontractor discrepancies to ensure they are fixed to meet quality expectations effectively.

  • AutoCAD Designer

    We are seeking an experienced AutoCAD Designer for Residential Home Design. The right candidate will create and maintain construction documents for all new homes and prepare sales brochures for each division. Key responsibilities include compliance with building codes, maintaining revision logs, assisting in design changes, and supporting other departments with AutoCAD. Qualifications include an Associate’s degree or equivalent experience, strong communication and organizational skills, ability to prioritize workload, familiarity with residential design and construction, and proficiency in AutoCAD drafting.

    Role Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Create and maintain construction documents within compliance of the International Residential Building Code.
    • Create and maintain sales brochures to be distributed to Sales Agents.
    • Keep an excellent record of all changes to construction documents in a revision log.
    • Responsible for new design, customer upgrades and daily design changes.
    • Assist other departments with AutoCAD utilities and applications.

    Prerequisites for Success:

    • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 1-2 years’ experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Heavy Equipment Mechanic

    We are searching for a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our onsite Shop Crew. In this role, you will be responsible for mechanical repair and maintenance of heavy trucks, earth moving and related construction equipment, road grades, dozers, gasoline and diesel powered tractors and dump trucks. You’ll also be tasked with resolving any problems that you find and maintaining large machines to ensure they work properly for as long as possible. To do this, you’ll use a wide variety of tools & equipment. You should be capable of using these things with minimal supervision. Additionally, you should be skilled at spotting mechanical problems and resolving them as efficiently as possible.

    Role Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Promote safety. Take an active role in prioritizing safety for yourself and others at all times, in accordance with OSHA and J. A. Myers standards.
    • Repair & maintain equipment. Service, repair, adjust, maintain and test all equipment in order to maximize performance and limit downtime.
    • Inspect equipment & material. Inspect all equipment to determine and troubleshoot the cause of errors. Perform repairs to resolve issues when necessary.
    • Handle and move objects. Handle, install, position, and adjust parts, materials and industrial hand tools safely throughout the shop.
    • Operate equipment. Assist in driving heavy equipment and vehicles, when necessary, to ensure production continues efficiently.

    Prerequisites for Success:

    • 1-2 years experience
    • Valid PA Drivers License
    • CDL is a plus, but not required

    • Fits and installs window frames, doors, door frames, door hardware, interior and exterior trim using a carpenter’s level, plumb bob, and laser levels.
    • Studies specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required.
    • Shapes or cuts materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines or power saws.
    • Follows established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean working environment.
    • Builds or repairs cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, or other wooden fixtures used in buildings, using woodworking machines, hand tools, or power tools.
    • Assembles and fastens materials to make frameworks or props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue.
    • Removes damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repair or replace, using hand tools.
    • Inspects ceiling or floor tile, wall coverings, siding, glass, or woodwork to detect broken or damaged structures.
    • Moves necessary materials around the jobsite, as assigned.
    • Cleans up worksite debris.

  • Site Superintendent

    We are looking for highly motivated and experienced Site Superintendents to provide onsite coordination for all phases of Single-Family, Multi-Family and Custom Homes construction projects. Our Superintendents get their hands dirty, are willing to put their tool-belts on, as needed to get the job done right and on time. The Site Superintendent is responsible for supervising all on-site construction activities. This includes scheduling subcontractors, resolving day-to-day issues on the job site, and overseeing all work during construction to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.

    Role Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Follow, implement and enforce safety requirements.
    • Serve as overall on-site supervisor throughout all aspects of construction.
    • Read and interpret job specs and plans to ensure quality project completion, on time and within budget.
    • Review and coordinate project plans and specifications at the job site.
    • Schedule and monitor subcontractor completion of all punch list work.
    • Ensure all construction is performed in accordance with quality standards, contract requirements, and schedule.
    • Supervise permits, including scheduling inspections and meeting with inspectors on-site.
    • Maintain schedules for various projects within a community using our job scheduling software, BuildPro.
    • Communicate effectively with all parties involved throughout the project, including Estimating & Purchasing, Project Managers, Sales Agents and Homebuyers.
    • Work with field crews to complete construction.

  • New Home Sales Agent

    J.A. Myers Homes is looking for a driven and experienced New Home Sales Agent to join our growing team. The right candidate will have an outgoing, friendly and people-first attitude that will best reflect our company values. As the New Home Sales Agent representing J.A. Myers Homes, you will be managing the day to day operations of your assigned Sales Center, located within one of our New Home Communities. Primary responsibilities include greeting clients, establishing relationships, and supplying customers with information needed to properly execute a sale. Additionally, you will work to generate leads through direct marketing, social media and other advertising techniques.

    Role Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Develop an in-depth knowledge of the competitive marketplace, including product, site, local community, sales, advertising and demographics.
    • Monitor and update property listings.
    • Accompany visitors through models and spec homes answering questions and providing information about the community as well as discussing features and details regarding the home.
    • Walk clients through the buying process, highlighting important details to ensure they know exactly what to expect.
    • Monitor and record daily customer traffic utilizing company designated tools.
    • Gather data and prepare reports for management review on a weekly basis.
    • Maintain the condition of the Sales Center, models and spec homes, communicating with field and office staff of any maintenance needs.
    • Provide timely and consistent follow-through with customers from initial contact; the purchase and financing process, stages of construction, and all closing and post closing activities. Maintain accurate records of all communications during this process.

    Prerequisites for Success:

    • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
    • 2+ years of sales experience.
    • Appropriate license/certifications as required by the state (PA Builder/Realtor License).
    • Valid Driver’s License.
    • Member of RAYAC or other Realtor Association or willing to join as necessary to have access to MLS systems.

    We are seeking full-time Heavy Equipment Operators with at least 2 years’ experience in all aspects of Residential Construction and/or Excavating. The ability to operate multiple pieces of heavy equipment is a must and a CDL would be helpful but is not mandatory.
