Dear Ben,

I thought I would take a few minutes and drop you a short note. I used to be in management, and if your days are anything like mine were, a large part of your day is spent putting out “fires” and dealing with problems. It seemed like, at times, there were problems on top of problems and I would find myself thinking, ‘Can’t our company (our people) do anything right?’ Seldom do people come and say, ‘Wow, things are really going well with this project.’ Even a more unlikely occurrence would be for employees or customers to come and say, ‘Wow, I really appreciate the work that you do.’ I suppose that is how life is for a vice president.

Well, I thought I should take a moment and let you know that Debbie and I really do appreciate you, your company, and your employees. The condo that you built for us is really nice. I think when a person starts a building project, they are hoping for their dream house. Their goal is to have it be absolutely perfect. The truth of the matter is, the ‘perfect’ house has never been built. That being said, Debbie and I believe our condo is pretty much everything we hoped it would be.

You and your team helped us work through problems and issues as they arose during the construction process. The end result is a condo that Debbie and I are extremely proud to call home. Moving from a single family home to a condo is a bit of adjustment, but you and your team built a condo that has helped us easily make that adjustment.

So Ben, I just wanted to take this opportunity to say a heartfelt ‘Thank you!’ Debbie and I appreciate your efforts and we really are very happy with our condo.
